Albert "Al" N. Grendler, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2014.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.

Al was born on June 25, 1931 in Blairstown, Iowa. He was employed at Wilson/Farmstead Foods until his retirement.

Al was a Marine and served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and playing euchre with his friends.

Surviving Al is his wife, Dorothy Mae; children, Phyllis Beauchamp, Roy Grendler, Peggy (Mike) Hoffman, Dale Grendler, Lewis Kevin (Wendy) Grendler and James (Jean) Nicholson; three stepdaughters, Linda (Dennis) Sanders, Brenda Mason and Tina Lewis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
