Alvy M. Wolfe, 83, of 2014 "K" Street S.W., died Sunday afternoon, March 11, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. His wishes were to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.

Alvy is survived by 4 children: Shirley Porter, Denver, Colorado, Dianna Hansel, Tami Ladwig and James Wolfe all of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; significant other, Norma Kemmerling and children Jim, Jean, Bob, Deb and Brenda and their families, all of Cedar Rapids; and 2 sisters and 1 brother.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anna, his parents, Rollie and Jennie (Payne) Wolfe and 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Alvy was born on January 11, 1929 in Macon, Mississippi. He married Anna Dittmar on January 19, 1948 in Dubuque and she died August 23, 1998.

Alvy was a heavy equipment operator for many years and in retirement he enjoyed driving a school bus.
