Carol J. Hamilton, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, October 8, 2018 in the Hospice Unit of UnityPoint-Saint Luke's Hospital.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2

Street S.E., with Rev. Brice Hoyt officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Carol is survived by her children, Jeanne M. (Jesse) Jones, Cedar Rapids, Thomas Hamilton and Doug Hamilton and companion Leona Weber, all of Traer and Edward Hamilton of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren, Jamie (Beau) Bushman, Trudie (Anton) Derenne, Emily (Phil) Cherion, Clint (London) Jones, Amanda (Ryan) Fennern, Alex (Kenna) Hamilton, Jennifer and Judy Hamilton, Matt and Lisa Hamilton, Hailea Westerberg and Jaedyn Hamilton; many great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; three sons, Andy, David and Danny Hamilton; daughter-in-law, Anne Hamilton; her parents, Ralph and Daisy (Condon) Nandell and a sister Patricia Morse.
Carol was born December 11, 1933 in Iowa City. She lived most of her life in Cedar Rapids until 2008 when she was displaced by the flood and moved to Traer. She returned to Cedar Rapids in 2016. Carol married Howard S. Hamilton on May 19, 1952 in Cedar Rapids. Howard died August 2, 1996.
Carol was employed as a cake decorator for several local grocery store bakeries until her retirement in 1996. She then worked as a home health care giver for Comfort Care for several years.
Carol was raised in the Lutheran faith. She loved cooking, baking and working crossword puzzles. Most of all, she loved being with and taking care of her family.
Carol was a beautiful, sweet person who was always looking out for her family and always put their needs in front of her own. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in Carol's name.
