Carolyn M. Vyskocil Teach, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday evening, December 19, 2012 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 "J" Street S.W. by Rev. William Harnish. Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral chapel. Entombment: Sisley Grove Cemetery, rural Cedar Rapids.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Richard; 4 daughters, Terri Vyskocil, Cedar Rapids, Kerri Jared, Fishers, Indiana, Julia Vyskocil, Cedar Rapids and Jill (Steve) Baker, Argyle, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Jeromie Jared, Stephany Walters, Tiffany Morris, L.J. Mims, Christina Mims, Bobbi Mims, Danielle Baker and Stephen Baker II; 5 great-grandchildren, A.J., Breonna, Makhi, Camren and Izaya; 1 sister, Elaine Martin, Arkansas and 6 brothers, John (Gayle) Allen, Pennsylvania, Darwin (Linda) Allen, Florida, David Allen, Florida, Dale (Elsie) Allen, New Jersey, Roger Allen, Florida and Rick Allen, Arkansas.
Preceding Carolyn in death were her first husband, Richard Vyskocil, her parents, Darwin and Ruth (Leeper) Allen and a sister Alice Jean Hall.
Carolyn was born October 10, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa. She married Richard W. Vyskocil on September 9, 1961 in Cedar Rapids and he died April 15, 1980. Carolyn married Richard L. Teach on August 3, 1983 in Dallas, Texas. Carolyn moved from Cedar Rapids to Dallas, Texas in November, 1982 and she and Richard returned to Cedar Rapids in November, 2007.
Carolyn was a member of the American Business Womens Association and a former member of Lodge Hawkeye #423 W.F.L.A. She loved flower gardening, raising tomatoes and bowling.
A memorial fund has been established in Carolyn's name.
