Obituary

Charles "Fox" Leonard Noke, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2 nd Street S.E.  Immediately following the funeral services, military graveside services will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 788 at Saint John's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Surviving family members include his sons, Michael (Kimberly) Noke and David (Anothai) Noke of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Karli Roush, Sarah Noke and Charles Noke, all of Cedar Rapids.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Colene; an infant son, Leonard Noke; and his parents.

Charles was born August 22, 1939 in Providence, Rhode Island the son of Charles and Sara (D'Ordine) Noke.  He was a 1956 graduate of La Salle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island.  While attending high school he was given the nickname "Fox (Foxy)" which he was known by to his family and friends.

On August 29, 1956, Charles enlisted in the Air Force.  While stationed in Topeka, Kansas, he met Colene Kness who would later become his wife.  After being discharged from the Air Force on August 28, 1960, Charles and Colene settled in Cedar Rapids.  Charles was employed at West Rock, formerly known as Downing Box.

Fox was a true Hawkeye fan who enjoyed Iowa Football and Basketball.  He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, a cold beer on a warm afternoon and time spent with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
