Daniel Edward Shelton, 38, Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home on Monday, January 11, 2021.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 4th at Saint Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, with Fr. Ken Glaser officiating.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the Funeral Mass.  Masks are required for all attending.  Live streaming will be available at st.ludmila.org.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Chariton, Iowa, on Saturday, June 5. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.

Dan was born on October 29, 1982 in Duncraig, Western Australia to Kathy (Steinbach) and Desmond Shelton.  He graduated from Jefferson High School in 2002 where he was a proud member of the Band of Blue and Swim Team.  Dan enjoyed wearing his suit and bow tie to serve funeral masses at Saint Ludmila.

Dan is survived by his mother, Kathy; stepmother, Judi; aunts and uncles, Louise Wibe, Jeanne and Steve Brown, Ruthann and Rick Heidgerken, Al and Deb Steinbach, Lynette Flett, Pam Clark, and Kerry Silins; along with many cousins both in America and Australia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Desmond Shelton; grandparents, Larry and Esther Belle Steinbach, Ted and Violet Shelton; and uncles, Richard Wibe, Victor Pollock, and Bob Flett.

No flowers please.  Donations in his memory may be given to Czech National Cemetery where Dan learned to ride his bike and drive a car, to Saint Ludmila Church or to a charity of your choice.
