Debra Ellen Simonsen passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She was born September 26, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Billy Gene Jones and Mona Raye (Proffer) Jones Edwards.  Debra married Raymond Dean Shannon and they had two children, Raymond Dean Jr. and Heather Ellen.

Debra was working for the public school system when she retired.  She enjoyed helping people and loved her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her son.

Debra is survived by her daughter, Heather, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brother, Rick Jones and sister, Jackie Tomlin.

A Celebration of Life for Debra will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the Community Hall at Summit View Village, 100 Hames Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa  52404.  She is remembered for her willingness to offer help and be generous to those she met.
