Obituary

Delores A. Hach, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Following the graveside services, a time of fellowship and refreshments in Dorie's memory will be held at the Community Center at the Grand View Village Mobile Home Estates, 5410 Wabash Street S.W., Cedar Rapids. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.

Delores "Dorie" is survived by her nephew, Jerry (Beverly) Swore of Boone; nieces, Cindy (Ken) Ystesund of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vicki Newburn and Sandra Swore-McCright, both of Cedar Rapids; niece-in-law, Raejeanne Swore of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews and her little dog, Missy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Dorothy, Esther and Betty, an infant brother, Glen and nephews, Ron Armstrong and Rick Swore.

Dorie was born July 22, 1928 in Chelsea, Iowa, the third daughter of Edward and Emma (Modracek) Hach. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1945 and moved with her family to Cedar Rapids in November, 1945. She worked in the accounting department at Rockwell-Collins for 32 years, retiring in 1991.

Aunt Dorie was happiest when she was working in her yard and flower gardens. Her back yard on 2nd Street S.E. was like a park, very well-manicured and always vibrant with colors. Dorie was quick-witted, loving, kind and generous. She was always there for her family. Her nieces and nephews considered her their "other" Mother.

Throughout her lifetime, she was teased about the way she treated her dogs. Many people would say, "I want to come back as one of Dorie's dogs".

She will be forever missed by Missy, her family and her many friends. She was a sweet soul.

Dorie's family would like to extend a thank you to the many kind folks at Hospice of Mercy, especially Jennifer, Lisa and Kay.

The family also requests that memorials be directed to Hospice of Mercy, Cedar Rapids or a charity of the donor's choice in memory of Delores A. Hach.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.papich-kubafs.com under "obituaries".
