Dixie Lee Gilson, 82, a resident of the Anamosa Care Center, Anamosa, and formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away at the care center Tuesday morning, September 13, 2022.  Her wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of Dixie's life will be at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 17 ^th at Thomas Park in Marion.  Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, Cedar Rapids is serving the family.

Dixie is survived by her three children, Doreen Anderson, Royce Carlson and Ron Gilson Jr.; her brother, Jerry Myers; 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Gilson Sr. on November 30, 2018; three children, Carl, Sue and Joe Carlson; her parents, Milford and Zola (Carney) Myers and 8 brothers and sisters.

Dixie was born January 13, 1940 in Cedar Rapids and lived here her entire life until moving to the Anamosa Care Center in May, 2019.  She was employed for many years as a certified nursing assistant and loved being a caregiver and taking care of people.
