Elizabeth "Bette" M. Krall, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday morning, September 25, 2013 at Saint Luke's Living Center West.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 A.M. Friday at Saint Ludmila Catholic Church by Father Dennis Juhl. Burial: Saint John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 "J" Street S.W. and after 9:30 A.M. Friday at the church. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Bette is survived by her husband of 65 years, John; children, Donald (Debra) Krall and Jim Krall, both of Cedar Rapids and Kathleen (Jeff) Steffen of Holman, Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren, Brian (Sheena) Krall, Alicia (friend Anthony Snodey) Krall, Kristen (Ben) Csiacsek, Peter (Monika) Steffen and Paul (Lesleigh) Steffen; 6 great-grandchildren and a sister, Jane (Wayne) Miller, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Krall, parents, Raymond and Agnes (Komischke) Cantwell, sisters, JoAnn Kucera and Ramona Smetzer and a brother, Paul Cantwell.
Elizabeth was born March 14, 1926 in Van Horne and had lived in Cedar Rapids since she was 17 years of age. She married John F. Krall on August 17, 1948 in Van Horne. Bette completed Nurse's Training at Mercy Hospital and was employed as a Registered Nurse for several years.
Bette was a very active member of Saint Ludmila Catholic Church and was involved in many activities of Saint Ann's Circle and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of Lodge 500 W.F.L.A. and the Red Hat Society.
Bette was a loving and caring person who will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Saint Ludmila Catholic Church and Discovery Living.
