Fran (Hanzel) Johnson, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2025, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, with a visitation from 9:00-10:30 a.m., at the church. Burial: Czech National Cemetery. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Fran was born on May 13, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and Sarah (Weaver) Hanzel.

Fran was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. She played flute in the Marion Community Band, Marion Municipal Band, and the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band.

Fran is survived by her children, Eric (Michelle) Johnson and Dan (Julie) Johnson; grandchildren, Ann, Elaina, Myles, Zander, Sami, Kai, Georgi, Tori, and Levi; and sister, Mayree (Mike) Bernstein.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jarm Benning; and niece, Denise Pollock.
