George Nicolas Saba, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2017, with friends and family by his side.

Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Friday at Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church . Burial will follow at Saint George Orthodox Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday at the church with a Trisagion Service beginning at 7:00 P.M.

George was born December 13, 1934 in Ain Arab, Lebanon to Nicola and Shakiba (Elossais) Saba. He found the love of his life, Midge Cathleen Robinson and they were married on November 6, 1958.

George was the proud father of eight children: Michael (Pascale) Saba, Baby Jessie, Pierre (Cheryl) Saba, Baby George, Nick Saba, Baby Anthony, Matthew (Melonie) Saba and Lesa (Sean) O'Connell and 15 beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Freida Elzien, Eva Saba, Elias (Amal) Saba, Milia (Jack) Masse, Hayatt Diwan and Karam Saba.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sons.

A special thanks to Casey Saba, the Crestview Acres staff and the doctors and staff at Mercy Medical Center and Clinics who cared for George.

Memorials may be given to Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church or to the Saba family.
