Grace A. Kimbrough, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home early Wednesday morning, February 11, 2015.
Services: 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd Street S.E. by Rev. Craig Peters. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:30 A.M. Saturday.
Grace is survived by her children, Judy Griffith, Cedar Rapids, Richard (Loretta) Kimbrough, Zion, Illinois and Geri Heinle, Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Bryan (Dawn) Griffith, Todd (Ann) Griffith, Rachel Kimbrough, Darla (James) McGaffic, Curtis (Kendra) Heinle, Jennifer Hood and Elizabeth Kimbrough; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Konnor, Joshua, Justin, Ashleigh, Hunter, Taylor, Jackson, Kieran and Ashlynn; and a great-great granddaughter, Chloe.
Grace was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Harry; her parents, Henry Sr. and Mabel (Stitt) Matejka, one brother and three sisters.
Grace was born September 28, 1927 in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. She married Harry W. Kimbrough on August 3, 1946 in Cedar Rapids and he died March 11, 2008. Grace had worked in Home Health Care for Mercy Medical Center.
She was a member of the Shueyville United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #788, Cedar Rapids.
Grace loved playing bingo, crocheting, knitting, quilting and taking care of her yard, especially growing flowers. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Shueyville United Methodist Church.
