Harry W. Raker, 76, of Cedar Rapids died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
Harry is survived by his four children, John Raker of Cedar Rapids, Philip (Melissa) Raker and their two sons, Evan and Nathan of Davenport, Amy (Jason) Clemons and their two children, Marilyn and Thomas of Iowa City, and Andrew Raker of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Jane (Robert) Unash of Bemidji, Minnesota and Mary (Mark) Davidsaver of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; his parents, Webster Raker and Essie (Bollinger) Underwood; and a brother Michael Raker.
Harry was born December 9, 1944 in Iowa City. He married Arlene Fuller on April 8, 1972 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Harry worked as a machinist for over 25 years at Nissen Gymnastics Equipment in Cedar Rapids and later worked at Whirlpool in the Amana Colonies until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and relaxing and chatting in his spare time. Harry also enjoyed spending time at his Credit Union. He was well known for having a calm and easy-going nature.
