Obituary

Harvey Lee Hall, 65, of Robins, formerly of Hiawatha, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021.

Please join us in honoring and remembering Harvey and his love of nature at a visitation/celebration of life gathering from 3 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, October 20 th at Horseshoe Falls Lodge, Pinicon Ridge Park in Central City.

Harvey was born on September 12, 1956 in Anamosa to Wayne and Donna Hall.  He graduated from Anamosa High School and Mount Mercy College.  He married Mary Smith on December 21, 1979.

Harvey served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman and continued his law enforcement career for 46 years.  He completed his "tour of duty" on October 16, 2021.

Harvey was always proud of earning his Eagle Scout badge.  He was a member of the Midwest Association of Technical Accident Investigators.  His first love was his job.  His passion was fishing and he was the best "couch" a dachshund could ever sit on.

He was a friend and mentor to many.  "Clients" became facebook friends, friends became family and his faith in people earned respect.

He passed on his love of fishing and oreo cookies to his grandchildren.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Valery Rapier (Justin) and Amanda Collins (Matt) and five beautiful grandchildren; sister, Jill Brewer; brother, Wayne (Diana); his father, Wayne; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna and brother-in-law, Mark Brewer.

Memorials may be made to the Linn County Sheriff's Deputies and Dispatchers Association of which he was a longtime member.
