Irene D. Johnson, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday evening, October 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.
Funeral Services: 1:30 P.M. Friday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd Street S.E., by Deacon Jim Berger. Friends may call after 12:30 P.M at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery.
Irene is survived by her husband, Charles; her sons, Todd and Chad, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Bertena, Brayden and Tytus Johnson; siblings, Kenneth Goodale, Osage, Arlene Fox, Elma, Viola Klassen, Adams, Minnesota and Dean Goodale, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Lillian (Wagner) Goodale and three brothers, Bill, Vernon and Dale Goodale.
Irene was born July 5, 1951 in Mitchell and was a 1969 graduate of Riceville High School. She and her family moved to Cedar Rapids from Mason City in 1975. Irene was employed at the Whirlpool Plant in Amana.
She was a member of IAM Union Local #831. When her sons were in school, Irene had been a den leader for cub scouts and involved with the PTA at Wilson Middle School.
