James Hunt, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Christian Life Church, 2808 Schaeffer Drive SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52404.. Luncheon will immediately follow at the church and then burial at Sisley Grove Cemetery.

James was born on April 2, 1957, in Batavia, New York, son of Harold Sr. and Reida (Petty) Hunt. James enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, operating his ham radio, watching the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes, and being with his family, especially his children.

James is survived by his children, Jeremy (Tina Ender) Hunt, Brad Hunt, Andy (Meredith) Hunt, and Elizabeth (Jared) Leversee; grandchildren, Hannah, Alex, Logan, Titan, Jax, Louie, and Isaac; and siblings, Harold Hunt Jr., Michael Hunt, April Long, Kevin Hunt, Jeffery Hunt, and Rebecca Erlacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Hunt.
