Janice M. Kruse, 70, of Earlville, died of pancreatic cancer Sunday morning, June 21, 2015 at Saint Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
Services will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Relevant Life Church, 351 8th Avenue S.W. in Cedar Rapids. Burial of Janice and her husband Melvin will be at the Zion Cemetery in Colesburg at a later date.
Janice was born May 13, 1945 in Colesburg, the daughter of Louis R. and Dorothy (O'Neal) Ziel. She was united in marriage to Melvin W. Kruse on July 20, 1977. Following their marriage they resided in Coggon for 22 years. After Melvin's passing, Janice moved to Earlville in 2007. She spent her life as a homemaker. Janice also loved spending time planting flowers and being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making doll clothes and furniture. Janice also collected salt and pepper shakers.
Janice is survived by five children, Ann Ziel, Clarence Ziel and Willis Kruse, all of Earlville, Cory (Sheila) Kruse and Kimberley (Earl Buckallew) Kruse, both of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and five brothers, Laverne Ziel of Independence, Ivan and Victor Ziel, both of Earlville, Roger Ziel of Manchester and Floyd (Betty) Ziel of Petersburg, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Walter Ziel and sister Rose Ziel.
