Jayson Lee Jones, 21, Cedar Rapids, was the victim of a shooting early Sunday morning, January 3, 2021.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from noon to 2:00 P.M.  Monday, January 11 ^th at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2 ^nd Street S.E., Cedar Rapids.  Graveside Services will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Rogers' Grove Cemetery, rural Ely, with Pastor Cecil Ballard, Grace Baptist Church, Marion, officiating.  Due to COVID-19 considerations, the wearing of masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced at the funeral home and cemetery.

Jayson is survived by by his mother and stepfather, Erin and Clarence Brunston; his father, Brian Pippen; his daughter, Nyla; brothers, Michael and Thomas Brunston; stepsisters, Constance Brunston and Canisha Brunston-Williams and grandparents, Jerry Jones and Jon and Brenda Heimeyer.

Jayson was born August 5, 1999 in Cedar Rapids to Erin Jones and Brian Pippen and was a lifelong resident of this area.  He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Marion.
