Jennie L. McEowen, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday evening, January 18, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center.

Funeral Mass: 9:00 A.M. Friday at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: 1:00 P.M. Friday at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Prairieburg. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2 ^nd Street S.E., where a rosary begins at 6:30 P.M.

Jennie is survived by her husband, Larry; her sister, Jeannie Nolte of Marion; her brother, Andre (Lori) LaBarge of Cedar Rapids; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her best friend since childhood, Debra Larson of Moore, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Mary (Hawley) LaBarge.

Jennie was born February 17, 1957 in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. She married Larry F. McEowen on May 15, 2004 at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Jennie was employed as an LPN for 36 years, working at Saint Luke's Hospital and later Mercy Medical Center until her retirement.

She was a member of Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church and enjoyed reading in her spare time.
