John W. Perez Sr., 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at home early Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Saint Ludmila Catholic Church by Father Kenneth Glaser.  Burial will follow at Saint John's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 "J" Street S.W.,  Cedar Rapids.

John is survived by his three children, Mary (Betty) Perez, Cedar Rapids, Vicki (Brian) Losen, Decorah and John Jr. (Stacy) Perez, Cedar Rapids; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;  siblings, Pauline Perez and Julian Perez, both of Cedar Rapids, along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred (Retherford) Perez and his sister, Paula Perez.

John was born September 21, 1941 in Fairfield and lived most of his life in the Cedar Rapids area.  He was employed at Iowa Steel & Iron Works, Inc. until his retirement.

He was a member of Saint Ludmila Catholic Church.  John enjoyed fishing and also hunting in his younger days, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

John's family would especially like to thank Hospice of Mercy for the wonderful care they provided to John throughout his illness.

A memorial fund has been established.
