Ken Benning, 92, of Marion was born March 6, 1926 in Bridgewater, South Dakota and passed away peacefully at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, on Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2018.

Ken Benning was a decorated World War II veteran. He worked 30 years for the Recreation Maintenance Department at the City of Cedar Rapids until his retirement. He then retired two more times from CVS Pharmacy, and ultimately enjoyed winters in the High Desert of New Mexico.

Ken's surviving family includes his son, Rob; daughter, Denise; stepson, Dennis; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
