Kevin D. Slaymaker, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died at his home Friday evening, April 10, 2015 following a sudden illness.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd Street S.E. Family Graveside Services will be held at Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
Kevin is survived by two sons, Jeff (Andrea) , Cedar Rapids and Steve (Lori), Marion; and four grandchildren, Kaleb, Maegan, Haley and Sydney Slaymaker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela; parents, Lawrence and Evelyn (Tompkins) Slaymaker, sister, Linda Wade and brother, Richard Slaymaker. Kevin was also preceded in death by his special dog, Tasha.
Kevin was born June 9, 1954 in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Prairie High School in 1973. On October 22, 1977, Kevin married Pamela Kay Parmer in Cedar Rapids. She died October 13, 1996.
Kevin enjoyed track, wrestling, football, baseball and later coaching baseball. He loved camping, fishing, watching NASCAR racing and building model cars.
A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be given to the family c/o Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust.
