Leona J. Smith, 81, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Marion, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. Monday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2 ^nd Street S.E., where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:30 P.M. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Leona is survived by daughters, Abigail Walters and Teresa Augustine, both of Cedar Rapids; son, Grant Smith and wife Tammy, Shueyville; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren with another great-grandchild on the way; sister, Rosemary Miller, Tulsa, Oklahoma and brother, William Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Roy Walters; parents, Hiram and Marie Cooper and a sister, Betty Jane Cooper.

Leona loved fishing and being surrounded by nature. She loved having the wind in her face and collecting all sorts of things.

A memorial fund has been established.
