Mary Mayhew Durfey, Cedar Rapids, died on Friday, July 28, 2017. No services will be held and graveside services for family and friends will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.

Mary Lou was born April 4, 1939 in Blairstown to Rex and Berenice (Kimm) Mayhew. She graduated from high school in Fayette and was also a graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Mary married Aldin Durfey on October 6, 1957. She worked in television for thirty-five years at stations in Cedar Rapids, Indianapolis, Indiana, Columbus, Ohio and retired from WAGA-TV, in Atlanta, Georgia as Commercial Operations Manager.

She is survived by her husband, Aldin; her brother, Jim (Patricia) Mayhew of Indianola; her sister, Joyce (Dan) Turpen of Ellettsville, Indiana; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Durfey and Mary Ellen Gilbert (Jan Collins) both of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Renee (Dean) Konrad of Cedar Rapids.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother, John Mayhew.
