Mervin C. Morris, 85, of Center Point, formerly of Marion and Cedar Rapids, died Friday evening, June 10, 2016 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.
Private family services will take place. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, Cedar Rapids, is serving the family.
Mervin is survived by two daughters, Chris Petrak and husband Jim, Center Point and Sherry Rowell and husband William, Cedar Rapids; one stepdaughter, Gayle Livermore, Palo; three grandchildren, Brian Livermore, Mason Morris and wife Lacey and Jacob Mikkola; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Morris, Carson Otto and Brayden Morris; one brother, Merlyn Morris and wife Alice, Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; his parents; two brothers; one sister; stepson, Terry Maginnis and stepdaughter, Linda Maginnis.
Mervin was born May 29, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Wesley and Doris (Sherman) Morris. He married Bonnie E. (Enburg) Maginnis on July 11, 1959 in Iowa City. She died September 21, 2010. Mervin was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska.
Mervin enjoyed fishing and motorcycle riding, but he really loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
