Mildred Louise Lane, 69, of Marion, Iowa, passed away of an unexpected illness at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:35 P.M.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Michael "Bucky" Williams of Marion; brother, Dale (Jo) Blackford of Newton; children, Charles "Chuck" (Cathy) Blackford of Crestview, Florida; Phillip (Pam) Slaymaker of Ryan, Iowa; Kenneth "Kenny" (Manda) Mason of Hackensack, Minnesota; Patricia "Patty" (George Jr.) Hausken of Brainerd, Minnesota; Lewis (Crystal) Lane of Hiawatha; Loretta (Joel) Lane of Cedar Rapids; Dorothy Fults of Cedar Rapids and Ronald "Ron" (Brandi) Varner of Washington, Iowa. She is also survived by 25 Grandkids, 3 Great-Grandkids and several nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Sr. and Mildred Blackford; sister, Margaret Blackford; and her husband, Richard "Dick" Lane.

Mildred was very loving and was always there for her family and friends. She has several "street family" that she loved and cared for. Mildred always put the needs of others before her own.

Mildred will be greatly missed by her grandson, Boston Hatfield, who loved her to the moon and back. His Grandma was his best friend.
