Patrick D. Holmes of Cedar Rapids, born June 9, 1962 the youngest son of William and Agnes Holmes, slipped peacefully from this world in his sleep on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

Father Aaron Junge will be celebrating a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 19 ^th at Immaculate Conception Church, 859 3 ^rd Avenue S.E.  Family will greet guests from 9:30-10:00 A.M. before the Mass.  Graveside services will immediately follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 375 32 ^nd Street Drive S.E.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Harry; and sisters; Frances and Kathryn VanDeusen.

Left to miss his humor and smiling face are brothers, William, David (Marilyn), Joseph, Francis and George; sisters, Mary Roff (Roger), Therese Wirtz (Dave), Dorothy and Christina (Cody); brother-in-law, Tom VanDeusen (Amber) and sister-in-law, Rita Holmes.

Patrick's happiest days were spending time with the love of his life and as a para-educator for Cedar Rapids Community schools.

While mourning his absence, we wish his spirit lightness and Grace for his journey.
