Richard "Rick" C. Hoskins, 60, of Troy Mills, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd St. SE, Cedar Rapids, by by the Rev. William Harnish. Friends may visit with the family after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rick is survived by his "beautiful wife," Angie; son, Matt (Joni) Hoksins, and step-daughter, Allison Varner, both of Cedar Rapids; and grandchildren, Samantha, Kaleb, and Noah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ella (Varner) Hoskins; and sister, Gail Wilson.
Rick was born May 31, 1950, in Cedar Rapids and had lived in Troy Milss since moving from Cedar Rapids in 2008. He married Angie Varner on May 31, 1997, in Cedar Rapids. Rick had worked for the City of Cedar Rapids Street Department, Dean Foods in Green Bay, Wis., for 13 years, and after returning to Cedar Rapids, he worked as a driver and later a dispatcher at Century Cab Co. for six years.
Rick enjoyed fishing and going to the casinos.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Rick's name.
