Roger Lee Bussey's Obituary
Roger L. Bussey, 59, of Fairfax and formerly of Cedar Rapids, died following a brief illness early Monday, July 21, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial will be at a later date at Saint John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd Street S.E., Cedar Rapids.
Roger is survived by his wife, Debra; daughters, Tamara Boxa and husband Dustin and Jaclyn Martin and husband Joe, all of Fairfax; grandchildren, Macy and Dustin Boxa Jr. and Jacey and Joseph Martin Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Irma (Kasal) Bussey and his brother, Dean.
Roger was born March 13, 1955 in Belle Plaine. He married Debra A. Toale on June 21, 1975 at Saint John's Catholic Church in Independence. Roger built and serviced computers.
He was a member of Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Roger was a gifted musician playing drums, keyboard and also singing. He enjoyed collecting Beatles' memorabilia.
A special thank you to Dr. Ghosh and staff and the Mercy nurses and staff on Zone 41 for the wonderful care they gave Roger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation.
