Ronald J. Kitch, 83, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 916 6th Street S.W., died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the care center following a lengthy illness.
Ronald's wishes were to be cremated and that no services be held. A Celebration of Life memorial will be planned in the future. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Ron was born July 3, 1930 in Milton, Iowa and graduated from Milton High School in 1948. He served as an MP in the Korean War from 1949-1952. Ron married Betty on April 13, 1957 in Iowa City. He was employed at King's Material for 37 years.
Ron is survived by a daughter, Juanita (Ray) May of Phoenix, Arizona and a son, Tim (Laura) Riley of Vancouver, Washington; sisters, Shirley Kitch and Rita Vandersnick of Fairfield, Iowa; cousin, Dick Heater of Keosauqua, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betty; his parents, Howard and Cecelia Kitch; brothers, Wendall, Marvin, Ruben, Donald and William; sister, Jean and a granddaughter, Roberta.
