Ronald M. Kofron, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday morning, September 22, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: Czech National Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd Street S.E., where a rosary begins at 7:00 P.M.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Lawana; sons, Shane Kofron and wife Cindy, Swisher and Thad Kofron, Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Chayse, Peyton, Torrie and Kyann Kofron; father, Milo Kofron, Cedar Rapids; brother, Bernie Kofron, Cedar Rapids; former daughter-in-law, RaeLynn Kofron, Cedar Rapids and brother-in-law, Earl Proctor, Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys (Blin) Kofron.
Ronald was born May 22, 1948 in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. He married Lawana Proctor on June 1, 1968 at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Ron had worked at FMC Corporation for 12 ½ years, CRST for 7 years and Iowa Glass for 10 years before his retirement. He was a member of Saint Jude's Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years.
Ron loved to go hunting in Pennsylvania with his friends and spending time with his family. He was never too tired to play games, encourage or teach his grandchildren. He loved his family and friends with all his heart.
