Rose Mary was born March 13, 1935 in Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to Hugh J. Sweeney on October 24, 1953 at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Hugh died June 15, 2000.
Rosie worked for many years in the office at Wilson Foods. She also worked at Mercy Medical Center and the Cedar Rapids School District until her retirement.
Rosie was a longtime member of Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
She had a great love for traveling and history. Rosie spent many hours playing cards with family and friends. Her greatest love, however, was her family. She spent many hours telling very animated stories about her past to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosie had an amazing quick wit and great sense of humor. She will be missed by all who were blessed to have had Rosie in their lives.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
