Roy "Smokey" Dallas Wilson III, 54, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on July 28, 2025.

Born on December 20, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, Roy was known for his sharp sense of humor and love for family. He attended Jefferson High School and later earned his GED. He married Cari Strauss (Becker) in November 1992, they later divorced in 2004. Over the years, Roy worked in a variety of roles, including Legrand Siding, Intertrade Steel, Apache Hose, Heinz, and Dunkin' Donuts. Most recently, he found great pride in his role as Assistant Manager at Dollar General, where he enjoyed serving and connecting with the Fairfax community.

Roy had a passion for collecting baseball cards and loved spending time night fishing. Above all, his greatest joy came from being with his family.

He is survived by his father Roy Jr. "Smoke" (Peg) Wilson; grandmother Karen (Dave) Hindenach; daughters Chrystal (Dale) Kite, Courtney (Sean) Dulin, and Kayla (William) Connelly; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Bronica (Johnny) Spaw; brothers Kip (Kathleen) Wilson, Dallas (Jennifer) Wilson, and Matthew (Ann) Wilson; and his close friend and cousin Jamie (Sam) Oberbreckling and special uncle Roy Jr. (Lori) Morarie. Roy is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his mother Georgia Wilson.

Roy's warmth, loyalty, and storytelling will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 7th at the Fairfax American Legion from 4pm – 7pm.
