Ruth Aue, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died at home on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Her life is being celebrated privately.

Ruth is survived by her parents, Harold and Ada (Leitner) Aue; children, Christopher Pyle, William Pyle, Jennifer (Nick) Reid, Dennis (Kurstin Keller) Reid, and Shiann (Ryan) Vonderheide; grandchildren, Kassandra, Nathan, Isabelle, Emily, Maddie Jo, Conner, Owen, Arya, Kayden, and Karver; sisters, Diane (Chris) Aue-Kaftanciyan, and Susan (Jimmy) Aue-Schneider; ex-spouse, Alden Reid; and dog friend, Roscoe.

Ruth was born in Long Island, New York. When her eldest was stationed in Iowa in 1998, she picked up the family and followed him. She raised five children while working as a CNA in her sweet, compassionate way. Ruth enjoyed Diamond Dotz, singing Karaoke, playing pool, and spending time with the grandkids.
