Scott Michael Torticill, 48, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Saint Matthew's Catholic Church celebrated by Father David Beckman.
Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2

Street S.E., and after 8:30 A.M. Saturday at the church.
A vigil service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Scott is survived by his parents, Phil and Ann Torticill, his brother, Phil (Lenet), his sister, Suzi (Tim) Carstensen, his brother, Mike (Christine), and nieces and nephews, Trey, Seth and Reese Torticill, Courtney Carstensen and Will and Sophia Torticill. Scott is also survived by a special friend, Kelly McGlothen, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Scott was born on May 16, 1965 in Des Moines to Philip J. and Ann S. (Apicella) Torticill. He graduated from Saint Matthew's Grade School, Regis High School and the University of Iowa. Scott was the Director of Sales at Nelson Manufacturing. He was a member of Saint Matthew's Catholic Church and a member of Hawkeye Lodge 423 of the Western Fraternal Life Association.
Sweet "T" loved life and was a friend to everyone he met. Whether he was discussing his family, his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, hoops, sports history, his unending house projects or the waterers he sold for Nelson Manufacturing – his passion and enthusiasm were contagious. No obituary will ever embody Scott's remarkable spirit, passion, courage and love of life. The lives of those he touched were made more marvelous.
Any desired memorial donations may be made in Scott's name to Saint Matthew's Catholic Church or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Scott suffered from Crohn's Disease for 36 years.
