Steven E. McNamara, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, September 17, 2014 at his home.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 "J" Street S.W.

Steven is survived by his children, Shawn McNamara, Kasey McNamara and Kazzy McNamara, all of Cedar Rapids, Sidney McNamara and Stasney McNamara, both of Swisher, Sawyer McNamara, Cedar Rapids and Jalyse "Pee Wee" Hunter, Monticello; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother, Marilyn McNamara, Mingo; siblings, Doug McNamara, Central City, Marcia Alexander, Des Moines, Monica McNamara, Missouri Valley, Charlie McNamara and Holly McLain, both of Mingo.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Kathy McNamara, father, Robert McNamara and brother, Dan "Boon" McNamara.

Steven was born November 26, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Robert and Marilyn (Emerson) McNamara and was a lifelong resident. He was employed as a concrete mason with Union Local 21. Steve loved spending time with his family, working with his sons at S & M Concrete and taking care of his yard.

A memorial fund has been established.
